Position: Junior Cook – Liberty Village & Events
Type: Hourly, Part Time (10-30 hrs/wk)
Compensation: $19/hour plus Tip Pool

Location: Liberty Village, Leslieville, Various event locations throughout GTA
Hours: Days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Evening and Weekend availability are mandatory.

Left Field Brewery is a small, community-minded business with a mission to create joy through beer. We also happen to love baseball, a theme that is interwoven through all facets of our brand. Left Field Liberty Village is a 300 seat, two storey, brewery, tap room, kitchen, and cold beer store. It’s a community-oriented space designed to connect over a beer and to catch the game while cheering on the home team.

SUMMARY
As a Junior Cook, you’ll play a key role in preparing and executing high-quality menu items at our Liberty Village location, as well as the opportunity to work at unique off-site events throughout the GTA. You’ll work closely with the kitchen team to ensure our brand’s unique vision of hospitality is delivered through your commitment to quality, consistency, and flawless execution. When working at off-site locations and events, you are expected to be an ambassador for our brand by performing your duties professionally and understanding that you represent Left Field in the community.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
– Be enthusiastic, energetic, and demonstrate a positive attitude

– Collaborate effectively with all team members to ensure smooth service
– Communicate clearly with the team to maintain consistency and execution
– Be professional and hospitable while representing the Left Field Brewery brand
– Handle deliveries, check off invoices, and return poor-quality products if needed
– Maintain FIFO, labeling, and correct storage to reduce waste and maximize quality
– Monitor portion control and product yield to minimize waste and improve profitability
– Manage food quality, portion control, and presentation with 100% recipe adherence
– Complete production logs accurately and on time
– Keep management informed of low stock levels and quality issues
– Ensure all products are prepared to current food safety standards
– Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and organization
– Adapt to working multiple stations as needed during service
– Execute all orders with precision and consistency, even during high-volume service
– Ensure all dishes meet Left Field’s standard
EVENT RESPONSIBILITIES
– Set up and break down event cooking stations
– Ensure product and supply levels are maintained
– Handle cash and mobile POS transactions accurately
– Provide guests with a consistent and memorable food experience
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
– 1+ year of back-of-house experience in a full-service restaurant
– Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
– Strong communication and time management skills
– Ability to lift and carry items weighing 40 lbs
– Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time
– Reliable transportation to multiple work locations
– Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
