Friends and fans,
Late last night we learned that a team member from our bottle shop tested positive for COVID-19. They are experiencing mild symptoms and are isolating at home for 10 days at the guidance of Toronto Public Health. We wish them a speedy recovery.
The individual’s last shift was Thursday May 6th between 4-8 pm and thanks to the collection of customer emails through our Fan Club program, we have been able to directly notify the majority of people who are considered low risk contacts so that they can self-monitor for the recommended 14 days.
The individual worked directly with one other ‘close contact’ teammate who is now isolating for 14 days and they had short, distanced interactions with three teammates who are ‘low risk contacts’ and who will be self monitoring for 14 days – all at the direction of Toronto Public Health.
The Bottle Shop will be closed on Saturday May 8th and after a thorough sanitization of the space, we will reopen on Sunday May 9th for in-person shopping and Curbside pick-up. Home deliveries for next week will continue as scheduled.
Paid sick days have been a part of our COVID-19 safety plan since day one and all teammates may use these days for time spent awaiting a test or test results, while isolating, and to be vaccinated. This policy played a role for our team in helping to identify and isolate the case early and we thank the employee for acting quickly and exercising caution.
On a more positive note, we are happy to report that by the end of this weekend more than three quarters of our team will have received their first dose of the vaccine – we encourage everyone to get theirs as soon as they are able to do so in order to help keep our community safe.
We are extremely grateful for the trust and support you’ve shown us over these last 14 months and have been doing everything in our power to operate as safely as possible. We welcome any and all feedback and questions. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at [email protected]
